Designer based in Raalte, The Netherlands
I'm Svenja, a designer who refuses to pick just one lane.
Branding, graphic design, interior design, product design, visual merchandising, photography. If it involves turning an idea into something real, I'm in. My career has taken me through startups, design agencies, and companies like IKEA, and somewhere along the way I realized my biggest strength isn't one specific discipline, It's the way I approach any problem thrown at me.
I started The Blue Bird to have the freedom to follow ideas wherever they go. No boxes, no limits, just curiosity and a solid drive to make things work. When I'm not designing, I'm renovating a vintage caravan, restoring a Ford F-250, or digging in the vegetable garden. Relaxing, apparently, means getting my hands dirty.

Activities range from developing brand identities, including logos, brochures, and commercial materials, to creating UX designs for new websites in Figma.

Visual merchandiser
Responsible for the visual identity of various departments within IKEA Zwolle. Translated commercial goals into inspiring in-store presentations that drive customer engagement and sales. Maintained brand identity, developed renovation plans, and coordinated with both internal and external stakeholders.

Graphic designer
Responsible for creating and maintaining the corporate identity for De Nieuwe Zaak. This included all internal and external communication materials, such as whitepapers, presentations, social media content, exhibition stands, and promotional assets. Worked within the marketing and design teams.

Industrial product designer & intern
Graduation internship within the Product Engineering department at Kruitbosch BV. The project: designing and developing a sustainable, innovative Cortina city bike for children. Following the internship, I continued working within the design team on a temporary basis.

During my internship, I executed various projects for major clients, ranging from recyclable corporate gifts to innovative acoustic wall panels. My work primarily involved concept development and 3D modeling in SolidWorks.

As a Recovery Coworker at IKEA, you give products a second life. Responsibilities include managing the "As-Is" (Circular Hub) section, repacking items, and contributing to sustainability and circularity. Additionally, ensured and monitored product safety standards.
